Any way to re-order content areas when logged-in to PowerCMS?

Any way to re-order content areas when logged-in to PowerCMS?

When you add new content areas to PowerCMS, it adds the newest one to the top of the list on the left... is there any way to change the order of this listing?

For instance instead of it listing the content areas as:
- Contact Us
- Product Info
- Home Page

I want to re-order it to:
- Home Page
- Product Info
- Contact Us

On the same note, the editable regions listed within each content area... is there any way to change the order that they show up in as well?

The order that you see in the side nav are determined by the order they were added to the PowerCMS. There are no options for reordering the contents in this area. This portion of the page is controlled with the code on the pages.php page in the admin area. In here the recordsets are defined that make the listings, it is possible that you could alter the recordsets here to come up with a different listing. This type of custom editing is not supported though so if you attempt it you should make a backup of any pages first in case you need to revert to them.

Eric,

Thanks for the info. I'll attempt to edit the recordset if I get really bored one day, perhaps! I certainly think, however, that the ability to re-order those items might be something very useful to add to a future release/update of PowerCMS!!

I agree, I think this would make a good update so I logged it as a feature request for you. Let us know if you have any other questions.

order by content group

i found that my content groups and contents are ordered alphabetically, not the order in which they are added.

a rudimentary means of sorting could be invoked if you bear this in mind.
