Dynamic counter

Dynamic counter

So, Ive created this youtube style video library.. I have a video library.php, and a video_detail.php page.

What I would like to do is add a counter to each video_detail page.

However, a simple counter won't work. I need to somehow .. i guess, grab the passed ID and "+1" to it, and write it to a DB table row.

Any idea or tutorial / direction on this?

you can do a manual update to your table something similiar to this

<?php require_once('Connections/conectionName.php'); ?>
if(isset($_GET['id'])) {
$idg $_GET['id'];
$sql "UPDATE TableName SET clicks=clicks+1 WHERE (id = '$idg')";

TableName: the table where the it will count the clicks for
clicks: the counter field where it will store the clics
$_GET['id']: the passed ID
id= the starting id of the table field

you might have to do some changes but its sort of that good luck mate :)
