Can't login to newly created Site Scluptor site

Hi

I created a test site and made it through the CMS setup.

The site loads . . .

However - I cannot login to the admin interface.

I had copied and pasted my login ID and password from notepad and even looked it up in mysql in the wa_settings table to make sure I have it right and I do.

Any ideas what I need to do?

I deleted everything - dropped the sql tables and uploaded the site again.

Like last time I had no problems going through the cms wizard.

Same result - I cannot log in. I am absolutely positive I am usingt the correct login id and password.

This is in the browser bar after inputting the login id and pass and selecting login:

users_login.php?failed=1&accesscheck=%2Fadmin%2Findex.php%3F

Tried dropping the sql tables - deleting the "Connections" folder - re-runing the cms install again which completed successfully.

This time I tried more simplified login id and passwords

No go - still cannot log in to the content management

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The first thing to check is that the host server is properly handling sessions.

upload the sessionTest.php script from the following thread to your server to sets session management:
showpost.php?p=23826&postcount=2

if there is a session management problem, you will need to contact the host to have them correct the issue.

Update

Still cannot login

I did run another test.

The site that I cannot login to is on ipowerweb

I also have hosting with hostgator

I setup an addon domain at hostgator. Setup a new site in dreamweaver. Copied all the files from the dreamweaver site files that I have uploaded to ipowerweb. Identical files with no changes.

I can login into the cms on the hostgator site.

Looks like it must be an issue with ipowerweb. I still need to get the site working at ipowerweb so what do I need to do?

Can you provide support on this?

If I need to go to ipowerweb for support what do I ask them to check into?

Hi

Sorry about the cross post.

I ran that script and it does show an issue with sessions.

Went to the control panel and found this. Does this mean I have to edit all pages that site sculptor creates and add that code?

Question/Problem
Configuring: Running PHP sessions

Answer/Solution
To run PHP sessions, include the following code at the top of any PHP script that uses sessions:

session_save_path("your home directory path"/cgi-bin/tmp);
session_start();

•To find "your home directory path":
1.Log into the PHP Scripting page for actual path to your home directory.

2.Replace "your home directory path" with the path shown.

•Set session_save_path to a directory within your cgi-bin: either /cgi-bin/tmp as in the example above or another directory as long as the absolute path is correct.

Yes, it looks like your host needs that code added to any page that relies on sessions.

You wont need to add it to every page that Site Sculptor creates, only the pages in the admin section.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I will check with ipowerweb 1st to see if they can adjust the sessions on their end.

I would imagine that its possible since I did not have to do this with hostgator?

Ok - case closed

They added the session.save_path to the php.ini and all is well now . ..

Woot
