How to sum all the columns of a table

Hello !

I have a small problem with an mysql query..

I would like to ask , how can i sum all the values that i have in my table by date range.

To summarise my question , i want to create 2 text fields where i will enter 2 dates, and after hitting submit , to show me the sum of all the fields of my table.

My table has only numeric values in all columns , and a date field.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thank you :)

To get the sum of a column use the SQL SUM function;

SELECT SUM(columnName) as sumOfColumn FROM tableName

"SUM(columnName) as sumOfColumn" takes the sum of "columnName" and creates a new result row named "sumOfColumn"

You can use DataAssist search to create the date range search.

You can also do it

SELECT SUM(columnName) as sumOfColumn FROM tableName WHERE datefield BETWEEN $_POST['textfield1'] AND $_POST['textfield2']
