Installation problem

I have PowerGallery as a directory in the root of my PowerStore3 site. I have not made any changes to PowerGallery, except that indicated in the instructions for database support.

When I try to run the PowerGallery install function, the "check system" is fine. But after I add my database information, I receive this result:

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /homepages/18/d319201787/htdocs/chengyanWhite/PowerGallery/install/2.php on line 182

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/18/d319201787/htdocs/chengyanWhite/PowerGallery/install/2.php:182) in /homepages/18/d319201787/htdocs/chengyanWhite/PowerGallery/install/2.php on line 185

The system is hosted by 1&1 in the UK, and PowerStore is fine.

I have uploaded / tried / failed / deleted and started again twice. It still does not work.

I then set up a completely new site, and just uploaded PG. Still not working.

Advice please folks, wot am I doing wrong? Regards, Nick

I was able to test some things out after clearing the connections and tables in the db. When I did I got an error about the connections file not being present from an unusual looking location. When I checked further I could see that the path to the connection file had been updated in one of the installation files. This update is what is causing this current error.

The fix is to download the files again, then delete the ones on the server and upload the unedited version of these files to the server. This should resolve the problem. If you do this make sure to delete any connections folder in your gallery and also delete the three gallery tables in your database:

pg1_gallery
pg1_gallery_images
wa_settings

Installation problem

Dear Eric

I deleted my PG directory from my PowerStore setup, and then I set up PG on a different PC. I uploaded it to my PowerStore setup (in its own directory, in the root of PowerStore).

Everything on PG now working fine. Many thanks for all your help on this. I am not sure how the F:///////// thingys got in there.

But now

Crisis ~ for some reason I can now not login to my PowerStore Admin area.

I have checked my user/password info in wa_settings, and they are right. I believe I have the right directory specified in lines 1, 9 and 10.

I have checked my session info from the forum item "Admin log-in failure", and from "HELP!! I cant login to the ADMIN PANEL" and when using sessionTest, on set session variables I get:

sessionTest.php?test=test

from test session variables I get:

sessionTest.php

I used the other file, session_test.php, and got the result:

the value of the session variable test is: test var
array(11) { ["pg_admin"]=> bool(true) ["pg_username"]=> string(8) "chengyan" ["gallery"]=> array(7) { ["id"]=> string(1) "3" ["title"]=> string(6) "Tigers" ["design"]=> string(26) "ribbon_lightbox_powerstore" ["theme"]=> string(4) "dark" ["watermark_text"]=> NULL ["watermark_font"]=> string(1) "2" ["watermark_position"]=> string(10) "bottomleft" } ["step5images"]=> int(0) ["AdminLogin"]=> string(7) "nickdfg" ["SuperAdminLogin"]=> string(7) "nickdfg" ["WAVT_index_Errors"]=> string(0) "" ["UserID"]=> string(1) "3" ["UserEmailVerified"]=> string(1) "1" ["UserGroupID"]=> string(1) "2" ["test"]=> string(8) "test var" }
go to next page

When I pressed "go to next page" I got

the value of the session variable test is: test var
array(11) { ["pg_admin"]=> bool(true) ["pg_username"]=> string(8) "chengyan" ["gallery"]=> array(7) { ["id"]=> string(1) "3" ["title"]=> string(6) "Tigers" ["design"]=> string(26) "ribbon_lightbox_powerstore" ["theme"]=> string(4) "dark" ["watermark_text"]=> NULL ["watermark_font"]=> string(1) "2" ["watermark_position"]=> string(10) "bottomleft" } ["step5images"]=> int(0) ["AdminLogin"]=> string(7) "nickdfg" ["SuperAdminLogin"]=> string(7) "nickdfg" ["WAVT_index_Errors"]=> string(0) "" ["UserID"]=> string(1) "3" ["UserEmailVerified"]=> string(1) "1" ["UserGroupID"]=> string(1) "2" ["test"]=> string(8) "test var" }
back to first page

This info reflects the PG stuff I did.

When I created the php file containing "<?php phpinfo(); ?>", and it returned the (very long) page you expected ~ with

"/kunden/homepages/18/d319201787/htdocs/chengyanWhite" listed as my document root.

It listed "PHPSESSID=a21992e7b8c66ebabfe8a9298390f812" in my http cookie.

My ISP is 1&1 in the UK, and I can find no php.ini file in my htdocs directory.

... it's 3.30 in the morning, if I've done something wrong in my wa_settings, or if I need to ask my ISP to do something, I'd really appreciate a few very simple instructions telling me what to do ...

Regards, Nick

I was able to look into this with your files on the server and the problem was that you had the PowerGallery version of the HelperGroupRulesPHP.php file in the Security Assist folder in the root of the site. I reverted it back to the PowerStore version of this file using the SecurityAssist zip that is in this folder. It contains the original version of these files just in case something like this happens.

I tested after updating this file and it all seems to be working at it should be.
