vista xampp setup with unknown hitch

Hi
New to php.
Downloaded xampp and turned of IIS.
Ran the download.
Followed tutorial.
MySQL is running.
Apache is Busy...
Opened a Explorer browser and ran localhost/
Reads
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems
Tried it.
"Local Host is not set up to establish on a connection to world wide web"
Is the problem, local?

Found problem

Ok Hi
Found the problem 1 inexperience, 2 just needed to double click the windows apache batch file in the xampp folder list to start apache running in the xampp control panel, after that the installation went verbatim.

Even better
Apache 443 port was blocked via Skypes online connection.
Un-installed Skype and apache runs straight from the control panel.

i think you better choose apache instead IIS since apache use by most hosting server.

if you run both as your Step no 1: "Downloaded xampp and turned of IIS." , make sure both does not listen to the same port (default :80) you can make apache use port 80 and IIS for 8080.

but again if you just learn dynamic programming.. choose only one server is recommended.
