Changing the main menu
I have my store loaded and running but I need to change the main menu color. I have never used the CSS Writer module before. Is there a place to change the color in one of the templates without using CSS Writer?

Hi
there are several ways of doing this.
1. You can use the theme-it module
or
2. Go to the folder css menuwriter and in the sub directories you will find all the css files for both admin and public areas
or
3. Open in dreamweaver highlight the menu item and click in the wagon wheel that appears (cant think of the name)
That will reveal the code navigator which lists all the css items relating to that item.
Using that you can work out what rule to change
This can get quite complicated with the hover, active, visited rules etc so take a backup before you start and then as you suceed in one change take further backup.

Thanks I wasnt able to use theme it because I had Dreamweaver 8. When I saw how much easier it was going to be to do it that way I just bit the bullet and finally upgraded. Much easier. I changed alot manually but was still missing some. I saw in another post it was in the .js file. got it covered now and loving it.
Yes, I wouldn't recommend using Menu Writer to modify the menu, since there were some code that was added after applying the menu using Menu Writer. These changes were hand coded and would get overwritten if you used menu writer to change the menu.
