Usps set up

I am using paypal standard and want to use usps shipping quotes. I made a custom form field set to "post" trigger being the submit button. I would like the shipping to refresh the cart page so they can see the shipping quote before final checkout can it be done? When use it it takes me to the failure page what am I doing wrong?

Normally the shipping quote is generated after the user enters their info for billing. If you are using Payments Standard you will have to use a different workflow. Are you currently gathering any of the customers details like city and zip before the checkout?

In order to implement the shipping quote charge you will need to gather this user info and use it in the shipping quote server behavior. When you apply the server behavior it will create the shipping quote for you that you can use in the shipping charge rule. Post back with any questions that you have about any part of this.

Need Help again

So I am still trying to make it work I am using my user usps number and selected for the shippers zipcode to select it from the biller portion of the form (since using paypal standard doesn't require shipping they only ship to biller).
Still nothing is going on so what should I do?

This is part of the problem is the order that it all occurs in. After you fill in the checkout form do you go to the confirm page or are you going straight to PayPal? If you are going to the confirm page then you can add in the USPS shipping quote server behavior to this page. After you have added the server behavior you need to check in the cart object to ensure that you have the shipping charge rule for USPS.

If you are going straight to the PayPal site then you will need to gather the zip before this page and have the shipping quote server behavior occur before the checkout like on the cart page. Please post back with this info and how you currently have it setup so we can help you get it worked out.

Keeping it simple

I have both a cart page->Checkout->confirm standard with ecart, I would really want it to work on the cart page with a custom form so that I can show shipping before checking out how can it be done. I used the shipping wizard with ecart in the behaviors panel but no quote is being posted. I am a beginner so I don't know whats really going on as far as it not working what should I select as the trigger?

Probably the easiest way to do this is to add a new form to your cart page. The form only needs two fields, a text input for the zip and a submit button. Once you have this form in place you are ready to apply the shipping quote server behavior. When you do you will set the trigger to your new submit button being pressed.

This should trigger the shipping quote server behavior. Next you will want to check the shipping tab to see that you have your shipping quote charge there. If it is not you will need to add a new charge. You can give it a name then for the condition set it to 'shipping quote not empty' for your provider. For the charge choose based on shipping quote value for your provider.

The final part of all of this is to add a new cart display to the page. You wil need a new one to see the shipping charge. You can remove the existing one from design new and just add in a new one.

If you need any further info on any of these steps or if you encounter any problems let us know.
