Send mass email

hello, i build simple newsletter system with Universal Email.. i would like to know about timed out issue.

as far as i know in every php server there is setting about max_execution_time .. if i would like to send 400 email where max email per hour i set to 200.. so the email would be completed in more than an hour.

while max_execution_time is 30 seconds... does the script still running in background ?
any idea for mechanism to check if the email send successfully ?
do you use regular mail() or other php class like phpmailer ?

do you have sample for best practice send mass email using universal email ?
while the server is busy sending emails, could you show me on how to set a progress bar (like file manipulation function).. so user know that system is sending emails.. progress bar with statistic (how many email are in queue) are more great solution

If you are using Universal Email 4, there is a Progress Bar that you can set up. Go to Insert->WebAssist->Progress Bar and apply it to the form that you are submitting for the email. This won't have the statistics like you wanted, but it will show when the server is still working.

Universal Email sending multiple emails shouldn't run into the scrip timeout issue. You should be able to send from a recordset with a lot of emails in it without any issue.
