upload not available with advanced file management

I have ticked 'Enable File Management' within the Global Upload Settings section, and set the folder to /uploads/

then when i click the image icon in the actual editor, then click on the upload tab, it states... "upload not available". so you don't even get the browse files form field.

The folder itself has permissions set to 777.
its on a linux server.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Have you tested this out on a local server? I'm wondering if your live server is not configured properly to allow for file uploading in php. Do you have a connection to your db defined and have the connection file uploaded to your server? I believe that the advanced file management features require the use of a db, if it is not available you will not be able to upload files through the advanced file manager. Please post back with this info and any other details that you can come up with so we can help determine what is going wrong.

Mine works locally but not on the server

I've been on the chat support with HostGator all afternoon trying to figure out why I can't preview the image and get this thing to work. Any ideas?

Are you working with HTML Editor? What exactly are you experiencing? Where are you previewing the image? Please post back with this info so we can look into this with you.

Image Preview

I'm using HTML Editor inside of ADDT. I'm able to make it work locally, but when I upload it to my server I cannot see the image preview.

Also, I can only upload an image via the Browse Server > Upload function and not by choosing the Upload tab. Either way I only see a placeholder and not the image in the preview.

Do you have a link where we can see this occurring? I would like to have a reference for this so I can determine how to proceed. When you say it is using the place holder image do you mean that the image you are browsing for is not available?
