Can I use 3rd party PHP captcha?

Can I use 3rd party PHP captcha?

Hi, Since anytime I try to use CSS Formbuilder either on a form I have already created, in a div I have defined, or on a new page with other containers, it trashes the entire layout, I am wondering if I can use it for validating a form along with Universal Email and then add a third-party captcha field. Will doing that ruin either the validation or the inner working of UE4? There are a number of third-party PHP captchas that just require adding a few code lines but I don't want to choke UE4's PHP or Formbuilder's validation.

Anyone have experience with this?

As an aside, I would be happy to detail the features that would make Formbuilder a truly useful product instead of what it currently is—apparently a work-in-progress that causes more work fixing it's damage than simply hand-coding a form. But the validation does work as long as you use a table-based form to start with and UE4 to process that form.

There shouldn't be a problem with using a third party captcha on the form and then applying Universal Email to it. Universal email should work as long as you are applying it to a valid form and applying it correctly.

Thanks Craig, hopefully that'll be helpful for the user if they don't have one in mind already.

Thank you

Thanks Jimmy And Craig for your info re: third-party PHP captcha. And I again extend my offer to do some UI-recommendations to make Formbuilder the truly useful extension it >could< become.

Hi Craig...wondering if you could give me some direction on phpcaptcha. I get the image in my form but the form submits successfully even with the image field empty. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Have read the quickstart guide repeatedly and it isn't giving me a clue. I am using it with UE4 and am wondering when you use it where you place the code that actually checks the user input for the captcha? I have tried it just above the closing form tag, above the submit button, and at the tail-end of UE4's code in the head but all give me the same results...form submits even if captcha is empty or incorrect.

Hi

Apologies but i haven't used CSSformbuilder or anything, I use this captcha in my contact form, and the code I used is based on the the php book by David Powers.

Anyway, the way i did it was to have a set of variables on form post, checking if the relevant fields were completed and if all variables were true, process the form and send the mail.

One of these check to see if the captcha field was completed, if it was, a check was then done to see if the code posted was the same as in the captcha field.

if all relevant variables were OK, the form was posted.

i will attach the page, (taking out personal info) which should give you the idea.

a link to the live page is contact.php
(best viewed in FF or chrome)

good luck
