data assist update multiple records

I am using data assist to update multiple records with a checkbox.

the user has multiple items that are posted for sale and are sorted by the date posted (2010-05-21)
the data assist update is on their account page and the check box is to allow them to repost an item which would put their item at the top of the list.
the check box value is <?php echo date("Y-m-d") ?>

Problem i am having is the person checks 1 or 2 items and they update properly, but the non checked items update with a NULL value?

how can i correct this?

thanks for your help,
Jim Balthrop

It seems like you might have this just a little off. Instead of having the value you would like to update in the checkbox, the checkox should be in the repeated region of the form and have it's value set to the id column from the recordset. You would then have a text field next to the checkbox for the value. If you have the multiple update setup like this it should only update the records where the checkbox is checked. If you bing the field you are trying to update to the text field any values that you update and check the box for should be updated. None of the other values should be updated.
