Hover state "gap" (with flyouts) using IE6

Hover state "gap" (with flyouts) using IE6

This may be more academic than a real concern, since according to the W3C browser stats IE6 usage is now below 8%, but this problem annoys me anyway. See:

index.php

Notice the gap below the menu item in the hover state AND when there are flyout items present.

I have been playing with this for a couple of hours without success. Any ideas?

I am testing using IE6 on XPSP3 PC.

Thanks,
Robert

I'm having some problems making adjustments to the menu on the fly. Please post back with a copy of the index page and the CSSMenuWriter folder from your site in a zip archive so that I can examine it locally.

I tinkered with the css a little and found the following updates made it render correctly in IE6.

In the CSSMenuWriter > cssmw > menu_ie.css file find the style titled ul#cssmw li.hover a {. In here add in the following three values into this style so it looks like this:

ul#cssmw li.hover a {
background-color: #187fc4; /* blue */
color: #f0b010; /* gold */
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: none;

/* three additional values are below this comment */

display:inline-block;
border-bottom: solid 1px #103689; /* dark blue */
margin-bottom: -4px;

}
