Add 6 new columns

I have a cart set up and working. My client has now told me they need to add 6 more bits of data to the cart - so I can pull them out as fields on the checkout form.

product_info_wigs.php?ProductID=30

If you add an item to the cart - you will see it adds perfectly. I have added the 6 new types of field to the form and want to bind these to columns in the cart so I can have the data carried through to the checkout form - where I can pull out and display the fields holding this information.

So I open the page up and then edit ECart and add columns in this format as per your tutorial

Column Name : WigType Type: Text Unique Ticked etc etc

I repeat this for each of the 6 new fields. I then FTP the Ecart folder up. When I go back to site it does not work on the existing products any more .

I have restored my original files which I had backed up. What am I doing wrong ? Or is there an easier way for me to set sessions on these fields which I can pull out on the checkout form without having to disturb E Cart ?

I also need to ad a flat rate of £9.95 carriage in and am not sure how to do this. Please can you help ?

Thank you

When you add new columns to the cart object, you need to modify any any add to cart buttons that you have already added to your pages to regenerate the code for the new columns.

Instead of adding the form elements to your page manually, let eCart add the form elements for you by selecting the cart column in the add to cart button wizard and selecting the Updateable from Text box option, this way you do not have to do any binding to the element, it will be done automatically.

to add your flat rate shipping, add a new rule on the shipping tab.

Set the trigger to Total number of Unique items > 0

set the calculation to a flat rate of 9.95
