Custom shipping rules not updating cart

I have setup some custome shipping rules based on the used selecting a shipping otion which sets a session.

However, the cart does not update to display the shipping costs.

I have used the above with success on ecart setups. This is the first time I am using powerstore. Have I missed a step to ensure the cart updates to reflect a seleted shipping option.

can you give some details on how the rules are set up?

What session variable are you using?

What value are you comparing it against?
