Populate insert fields automatically from another table

Populate insert fields automatically from another table

I have 2 tables, an items table containing the usual fields and an inventory table supplied by the client containing sizes, prices, stock levels etc (this comes from their POS system and is non updateable). The price displayed on the website needs to come from the items table as we need to be able to update it manually from the admin suite. At the moment I've having to cross reference the 2 manually whenever I want to enter a new item. The 2 tables are joined by the code field. I basically want to be able to enter the code in the first field and then with a bit of javascript (?) call across the price field from the inventory and insert it in the items table - is this a simple thing to do or can you suggest a way of doing it?

You will have to add a recordset to the page that will get the row that you want copied over. In the insert behavior you would want to bind the recordset values you want to be inserted rather than have them be bound to a form field.
