str_replace [filename]

Is there a way to do a str_replace on the filename of a uploaded image?

For instance, when I add the file "car's 001.jpg" to the filefield, it is uploaded as "car\'s 001.jpg". How can I do a string replace on the [filename]?

I just did a test on this, and I didn't get the same results. What email client are you using for the testing?
