Checkout Failure

I put my cart together pretty much identical to the tutorial. I'm using ecart 4.5 and Authorize.net for the gateway. Everything works great until I click "Submit Order" on the confirm page. No matter what I do or try I'm taken to the checkout failure page. I don't know much PHP but I'm not supposed to with eCart.

If I do everything by the book shouldn't it just work? Any ideas? I have no clue what to do next.

Thanks

On the checkout failure page you can add a binding for the failure response from authorize.net local checkout. This will tell you more about why you are failing.

Thank Ray, How do I do that? Can you give me the steps? Like I said I don't know much PHP.

Go to Window->Bindings to open the bindings window

Then click the plus button and go to: eCart->Local Checkout response

Choose Authorize.net and click OK

then drag and drop the values from the bindings onto the page.

Bindings / Local Checkout Response empty

After completing the Checkout Wizard, I used the local checkout response method to troubleshoot the checkout failure, and it returns empty fields, specifically:

<p class="eC_OrderInfo"></p>

in the browser source code, where the original code is:

<p class="eC_OrderInfo"><?php echo(AuthNet_Result("Response Reason Text")) ?></p>

I'm assuming that means the error occurs before anything is sent to Authorize.net. What next steps should I try?

Drag and drop the "full response" and view the source code on the page where it is displayed. Is it completely empty too?

Checkout Failure, but transaction goes through...

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your reply...after I posted, I used the Full Response and Full Request, which did have info. I also found out that the transactions are actually going through successfully to Authorize.net--so now I need to find out why I'm getting the checkout failure page.

Also, I have configured shipping via the Checkout Wizard, but there are no fields in the checkout process that show shipping quotes...do those need to be added manually? For reference, we are using UPS for domestic and USPS for international.

Thanks for your contributions to this forum--I have applied several solutions/fixes while developing this website.

Checkout Failure

I'm having the exact same problem, I get a checkout failure but it actually goes through.
Did you find out how to fix that?

My solution

I had to hire someone who really knew php. It cost me about $2800 and a week's worth of time. I can give you his name if you want.

What server language are you using? I'd hold off on hiring someone and let us open a support ticket for you. It sounds like it would take less time and we'd fix it for free.
