Missing Settings menu link

Hi,

For some reason, when I log in with the main admin account used to install PS3 I am missing the menu link for 'Settings' from the top. I have created a new user with admin privelages but the settings link didn't show up for that account either. If I type the URL manually (admin/admin_settings.php) it just refers back to the admin home page (admin/home.php).

Also, I have my PS3 site I have installed is on one Domain as the original domain has a website running live but I will need to move the PS3 site that I have set up to the new domain. Any tips on how to do this or do I need to run the install and start again on the new domain?

Many thanks

Kelly

When you login to the admin area the settings tab has an extra rule applied to it, it uses the super admin rule that looks like this:

php:
<?php if(WA_Auth_RulePasses("Super Administrator")) { ?>

This rule is based on the values from the globals file that are checked when you login. You will need to pass this super user rule to see the settings. It is based on the username and password in the wa_settings table.

You should FTP all of the files to your new server, then dump the db and import that. After you import the db you will need to go into the wa_settings table to update the URL settings for the remote and local roots. Other than this you just need to ensure that you get the files to the new server.

Many thanks for the info. I have one problem though, where can I locate the WA_Settings table?

EDIT: Actually, I just discovered that teh WA_Settings table is in db.sql. How do I view the database. I normally deal with Access Mdb and this is the first time I have dealt with a sql database. Also, I only have one administrator user on the store and originally saw the Settings menu with that account but now I cannot.

Is this setup on a local or live server? You were able to get through the installer correct? The super admin user is the one that you set a username and password for during the setup. You can check in the wa_settings table in your db to confirm though.

How you check on your db depends on weather you are local or live and what tools you use. If you are working locally you should be able to use the MySQL administrator or workbench, or you can use SQLyog. If you are on a MAC I would suggest using sequel pro, it is a very good MySQL gui.

If your db is live then your host should have access through a control panel where you can login to the existing db's to manage them and view the records. If you have altered the pages too much by adding in more security it is possible that you have altered the the functionality of the security checks. If you can't login with the values in the wa_settings table then you may need to reload the files to get them back to their original values.
