e_cart 4.5 not working

I can't get e_cart 4.5 to work at all. It seems to be a total mess. I get javascript errors. Pages that I can't get the cart object on and items not getting passed to the cart when purchased. It also seems to have stop one of my sites from working that had been fine until 4.5 came along. I'm now in a mess and don't know what to do.

I'm having the same problem, javascript while executing onload in WA ecart ser.htm. I've managed to get a few other extensions working except this one - the one i actually wanted!

me too

I'm having problems too

I cleared the winfile cache, i don't get any javascript errors, but the add to cart button doesn't redirect to the cart page.

I checked all the code, and the redirect path is correct. If i open up the cart page manually, the cart is still empty, but if i then click 'add to cart' again, the item is added.

Could just be me as until now i haven;t seen this error reported.

I have just uninstalled the extension and reinstalled version 4.1.6.

Will update when I have had a go with this.

Do you have an older version of Universal Email installed? I did and got javascript errors. I uninstalled it and eCard worked fine. I've brought the latest version of Universal Email and there's no problem.

Update.

Tried with previous version of ecart, no joy, then found the problem was due to a syntax error in my sql connection, all is well. Back on latest version without issues.

For those people having javascript errors with ecart, I strongly suggest clearing the dreamweaver cache file before flagging up faults, this is often the cause.

Craig.. Please confirm if you are refering to deleting DW cashe file like:

c:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration\WinFileCache-FE767FE1.dat

Will DW recreate this file? Are there any possible issues that might also be created if this file is deleted that we need to be aware of? I am using DW CS3. I have not had to worry about doing this before and am just not sure if it is simply a delete or is there an way to do this through the Adobe programs (like Version Cue)? With that done, I take it that the newer version of eCart is working ok? Thank you for clearifying this.

I am using DW CS4 on Vista and My file cache is as follows...

Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration\WinFileCache*****.dat, (where asterisks represent numbers).

I am pretty sure from your path name that you are running CS3 under XP

if you are unsure whether it is the right file to delete, simply rename it or change the extension instead if deleting it.

Dreamweaver will recreate the cache file next time it starts.

serial number input screen javascript error

Hi all,

I wrote a ticket to which i've had a reply involving renaming the configuration folder and letting DW CS4 create a new one.

This hasn't worked, i've replied to the ticket and shall update you with the outcome.

FYI my system details:
32 bit vista
Quad core PC
Just installing SP2
AVG internet security

Regards
