State / province field

Hi Guys,

Not selling to the states, I would like to alter the state_province form field on the checkout page to an input field to act as an optional address field. I plan to leave the name the same and just change the field type.

Is this ok?

You can change the type of the form element without issue. However if you have any code that relies on a state or province to be passed along you can get some errors. If you are not using any state specific code then this update should be fine.
