Search Wizard - no results page generated

Search Wizard - no results page generated

I'm using Data Assist 2.06 and want to use the Search Wizard to generate a search page for content stored in a MySQL table. The Wizard will not create a results page. I've run through the wizard several times and cannot figure this out. It only generates a search form page. When you enter something to search for on that page, it just returns you to the same page with no results. I'm using a very basic table with only a few fields for testing and have verified the table data by other means.

yes, you need to create the results page before running the search wizard.

Create a new page and add a record set to it.

Create the results page display by using the bindings panel to show the information from the recordset.

Once the display has been created, add a repeat region so it will show all of the records being returned by your search.

Now you can run the DataAssist Search wizard, it will add the DataAssist search server behavior to your results page which will filter the recordset and create the search page.

another alternative is to run the DataAssist wizard, and have it only create the search and results pages.

Jason,

Thanks for the reply. I've created two pages (search.php & results.php) both containing the same recordset but I'm a bit confused as to how you want me to create the results page. You say to use the Bindings panel - do you mean to just add fields (w/ repeat region) to the results page I already created? The wizard asks for the "Existing Search Page" so I point it to the page I've already made. There is no opportunity to enter the results page info.

Yes, just add the fields and the repeat region.

The results page is that page you have open when you start the Data Assist Search wizard.
