admin products_detail.php error

Hi,

I am having trouble with the products_detail.php page within the admin area of PS3.

When I select a product with no advanced options on it then the admin/products_detail.page displays just fine but if I select a product with any advanced options then the page returns a 500 error.

Strangely, this worked OK When I was testing the site prior to going live but it started to fail when I moved the site to a new folder on our server ready for the live domain.

Thanks
Graham

Admin option errors

I have just found out that the options_Add_simple.php page also causes a 500 error.

I am running this site using PHP5 as a fast CGI application and I think this is what's causing problem.

I would be grateful for any advice or ideas as to how I might overcome this problem.

A 500 error message is a very vague, it literally translates to "An Error Has Occurred". It is impossible to troubleshot a 500 error.

Are you testing using IE? If so try testing using FireFox instead, this may give a more friendly error.

If not, you will need to contact your hosting provider to see if they can look into the error logs to see what the true error is.

Problems with admin area

Hi

In order to get the proudcts_detail.php page to function in the admin area I have had to alter the web_config file for the admin directory to make PHP run as CGI instead of fastCGI.

I now have to login twice to get to the admin area and sometimes when logging in I get locked into a redirect cycle.

The actual shop runs PHP as fastCGI which is the default on my server and works OK although it is very slow on some of the product category navigation. There are lots of products on this store many with product options, is this why the navigation is slow and is there any way I can speed it up?

The site I'm having problems with is here: www.wildcareshop.com/

This site is running on my private server.

Thanks

what version of php and IIS are you running?

The Fast CGI Module in IIS 7 can encounter a number of problems with PHP if not properly optimized.

see the "PHP Process Recycling Behavior" section here:
