a blank space in editor

Hi
i am have a problem where if i click on the editor panel the cursor jumps in with a space before it and when i save my text i get spaces between my text and the paragraph tages.
ie. <p> welcome </p>
Does anybody know why this happens and how to stop it

This is not an issue that I have with my default editor instance. What do you have specified as the initial value in your editor? Also, what is the browser that you are working with?

When I edit within my editor the cursor always starts at the left most spot and the p tags are wrapped directly around the value.
