Photo Contest

I know I've already asked you several questions about trying to make a photo voting contest. I just have one more. Is it possible to search for certain images? Im guessing it would take custom coding but I thought I would ask. Thanks.

Also, just a suggestion...but you guys should really think about creating a photo voting software. It seems to be becoming more and more popular and I think you guys could do really well with it. Just a thought...

Currently there is no search capabilities for PowerGallery. It would take quite a bit of modification to get the gallery to have a search feature integrated into it. You can have a separate search for images if you want that you can create using DataAssist. Applying the DataAssist Database search server behavior would accomplish this. You would just have to display it in a different way.

If you would like to make a suggestion, please make a thread in the wishlist forum. That way it will get looked at by the product development team.

Hi M and Jimmy,

It is beginning to look as if all the latest image and video upload/share/vote/embedding iseas are being geared towards hosted specialty services (like most video conversion, decoding and de/recompiling services) especially with image uploading and processing - where people seem to need partnered linking, uploadinng and sharing from the likes of Flickr, Facebook, Picassa and Photobucket - with click'n embed links to and from your own social sites and to other's SocNet sites too. The photosharing sites themselves have 'build a gallery, Notification areas and 'My Friends' areas

Adobe - who I signed uo with (but haven't explored yet) and whose features I am largely reeling off here, also do video sharing/playback with increasing emphasis on mobile device interraction. I'm way too old.

Seems that service/social media sites will be making things very hard for the smaller businesses.

Hopefully in future releases of the gallery there will be more features added. Since it is version 1, it may not have all the features that everyone will be looking for. As always we are open to ideas on how to improve the products. If you do have any please post in the wishlist forum so the product development team will take a look at it.
