Problem with Dataassist Search Wizard

Problem with Dataassist Search Wizard

Hi

I'm trying to use datassist search wizard to create a new search page and results page.

I get through steps 1 and 2, and then select new search page and new form.

When I try to set a new form field for my first addition, I keep getting a CS3 alert dialogue saying "Please enter a name for your form field" whatever I try to input keeps throwing back this error.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Phil

Do you have a screen shot of the error? Maybe try adding a value in the name field before pressing that button.... I'm not really sure, but maybe a screen shot will help me.

Hi Ray,

It seems intermittent.

Screen shot attached.

I've followed the recipe at 02_dataassist_search.swf to the letter.

Cheers

This is probably the CS4 field blur bug.

Click into another field before clicking the next button, like the select field to the right. I think that will solve it.

get the same error in CS3

Same thing here. I used the DA Search wizard, selected stuff from the recordset and end up with the same popup message. Screenshot looks the same here.

if you click into another field before clicking the button does the error go away?

Hi Ray,

It works for me if I click away.

Similar problem occurs using the dataassist search server behaviour configuration interface.

FYI I'm using CS3

Thanks

Regards

Yes, we introduced this bug with our cs4 updates. CS4 automatically greys out image buttons in interfaces until they are moused over. This caused us to move to images instead of image buttons in some cases to fix the way our UI looked. Unfortunately we later discovered that buttons change the focus on the field and images don't and DW doesn't update field values until they are blurred.

We will be addressing this problem in updates but many of our products may have this behavior until that time. Basically the last field you update may not "stick" unless you blur it by clicking into another field first. Most products we have recenlty updated have included this fix.
