Dead end on database import in go daddy

Dead end on database import in go daddy

I'm trying to work on some offline management of my powerstore site, editing some of the pods by removing the dynamic link to the most popular product. So anyway I can do all that, I can upload my store files, I can export the local database script but when I run it, I encounter go daddy's restriction on the use of triggers in their mySQL - ie they don't allow the 'super' privilege needed to run that script.

So - it seems I am screwed in terms of working offline on powerstore or even when I move on - to ecart and other dreamweaver plug ins from webassist unless I switch hosts?

Am I right? Or is there another way? If not - can anyone tell me a host that will provide the full functionality of mySQL to allow me to do this database import

Thanks in advance!

Do you already have the database structure in your online (go-daddy) database as set up during the Powerstore install?

Not sure what type of testing server you're using, or how you are administering your local mySql, but whether via phpMyAdmin or some other mySql manager, when you do the export from the local database you should have the option to export just the data to a sql file (deselect everything else from the export options - i.e structure, and even the extra data options) .

Then try importing the sql file into the database.

None of this based on experience or even hearsay, - just wondered if that would make a difference.

In the PowerStore 3 download section, there is a known issue posted that will fix the need for the Create View privilege.

See the known issue section of the power store 3 download page for details.

Once again, posting thoughtlessly, I didn't see the wood for the trees. Sorry folks.
