Reg Trademark symbol does not show

I am trying to get the registered trademark symbol to show in one of my site-wide menu items. It will not.

I am using the html encoded characters "®" and have also attempted a fix by changing my DTD but neither has helped. There are no support topics found on this site for the symbol. Does anyone have a suggestion to get this to work?

If you put the symbol into the text directly, the symbol will show up. So if you copy and paste this into where you want the symbol to show, it will show up in the menu: ®

I have tried already what you suggest. It does show in the text in Dreamweaver before the CSS is loaded. But afterward and on the actual page, it simply is not there (however in the browser's code preview I see that it is in the right spot).

If I add the symbol directly to my cssmw/menu.php file, it seems to work OK.

If I add it from within the CSSMenuWriter 'Content' UI, it doesn't.

Thank you, Neilo. I believe I tried that too. On your example, what happens if you put the symbol on a sub-menu item? That is where mine is not working, btw.

Didn't think of that, but it seems to work OK on the sub-menus too.

For info, I merely pasted the symbol in to the links in code-view of the CSSMenuWriter/cssmw/menu.php file.

[Default pageDocument type is XHTML 1.0 Transitional, and default encoding is Western European. (Also for Info).]

That's interesting, when I added it directly int he UI, it worked. I'm glad you were able to get it working however. If you run into any additional issues, feel free to open a new thread.

I have been unable to get it working on any pages since writing yesterday that it seemed to work. I am really stumped. Can we open a private support case for this so I can share a url, etc.?
