Possible Bug with File Manipulation

Possible Bug with File Manipulation

I found one other issue when trying to delete a file with the UE4/DFP combo.

When trying to add the delete file server behavior, I only get a popup stating:

"There are no delete or update transactions on page. Please insert an appropriate transaction first."

But, there actually is a delete transaction on the page and it used to be in DFP 2 that the user could create the trigger based on any number of events for the delete file to happen.

Regards,

Brian

neilo

Hi Brian,

I didn't have any problem with the delete file server behaviour. I had just set up one page with an upload file field and server behaviour, and a second page, completely blank apart from the delete file server behaviour (using static file selection options).

This gave me the correct interface with any form post, before page load and current page submit trigger options. I expect it would have had the button pressed option too if I had had one on my page.

Uploaded file OK, then deleted file without any problem. Just trying again on a new blank page produces window (img attached).

PC, Vista, CS4.

This is an ADDT error with the ADDT delete. We don't generate that error or require any other functionality to be applied, so somehow the wrong server behavior must be initiated in order to generate that error.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

Hi Ray,

That is exactly what is happening. I remember this issue happening before and we were able to rename the behavior slightly to not invoke the ADDT behavior. You don't, by chance, remember what it was that those of us with ADDT installed needed to alter, do you?

I will scour the forum to see if there is any information left on it.

I also found out that it only happens on the Server Behaviors menu - so there is a slight work-around where if you flip to the binding tab and then select file manipulation from that menu, it will actually add the webassist delete file behavior just fine.

Thanks,

Brian

Ray,

I figured out how to modify it to still work with ADDT.

All it is one file at Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/en_US/Configuration/ServerBehaviors/PHP_MySQL/WebAssist/File Manipulation/Delete File_WA.htm

In that file on line 6 is:<TITLE>Delete File</TITLE>

Change that to: <TITLE>Delete Files</TITLE>

Then save and everything works lovely.
