Help withDreamweaver 8 and Web Assist 1.1.3 and Site import using windows 7 64 bit co

Recently I purchased a new windows 7 64 bit computer. After installing Dreamweaver 8 and Web Assist 1.1.3 and Site import I began experiencing problems.

When trying to use Dreamweaver 8 with either web assist or site inport the following error message pops up:

Dremweaver 8 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close and notify you if a solution is available.

As i have used and appreciated these products very succesfully on my old XP Machine I tried using Dreamweaver in that compatability mode. This did not solve the problem.

I spent 2 hours on your help forums but could find no help there.

What can be done to resolve this issue quickly?

neither Site Import 1.1.3 or Dreamweaver 8 are compatible with Windows 7.

We do not support SiteImport 1 in Windows 7.

I have been able to get Site Import3 working in Windows 7 using Dreamweaver CS3 and CS4.

Site Import 3 will not work in Dreamweaver 8 however, we no longer offer support for Dreamweaver 8.

further help

If I were to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS4 will I then be able to use Web Assist 1.1.3 and Site import? Or would an upgrade of these products then be necessary. I am using OS Windows 64 bit.

Site Import 1.x was not updated to be compatible with Dreamweaver CS4. You would need to upgrade SiteImport to SiteImport 3.
