Activation problem on Beta

Activation problem on Beta

Hi WA Team,

I had to reinstall my latest build of the Universal Email beta (11). But after trying to activate, I get this error:

"Unexpected error: -2.
Activation cannot be completed. Visit the WebAssist Community Forums for assistance."

I am not sure if this is an issue now with the beta or if the beta license has expired.

Just let me know one way or another and I can reinstall the old extensions for Uni. Email and Digital File Pro in the meantime. I would, if possible thought, prefer to keep using the Beta as I have created several mass email behaviors with it that I would still like to be able to manage.

Many thanks,

Brian

The beta was deactivated yesterday, so that is why you're getting the error now. The release should be soon, so you won't have to wait long to get the actual product.

Thanks Jimmy,

Any idea on an actual estimated time?

The reason I ask is that I now cannot get the Digital File Pro 2 to work even after uninstalling the UE beta and removing the cache several times.

Check out my error... this is what keeps happening when trying to use the DFP product:

It also gives me this error upon any page I open in Dreamweaver:

Any thoughts how to get the old DFP and UE working again would be great in the meantime. Unfortunately, I am a bit against the wall with having to have this application that I am working on complete by 3P this afternoon.

Thanks,

Brian

I'm not sure I've seen that error before. Have you tried renaming the configuration folder? You can always restore the previous one if the error doesn't go away.

The release should be out tomorrow, so check back on the site for the release.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be clearing this error. I have tried deleting every single file imaginable that could even be related to the Digital File Pro or Universal Email extensions. If I could just get the error to go away, I will reinstall the old versions of both and hope to be able to finish what I need to get done.

Do you have any suggestions on what I still may need to delete? It's as if Dreamweaver is still trying to load a file that doesn't exist. I have already removed the preference files and cache files many times.

Thanks for your help,

Brian

Have you tried renaming the Configuration folder? It may take some time to re-install the extensions, but it may resolve your issue.

Jimmy,

Which Configuration folder are you referring to? The one in the Application Support for Adobe DW or the one that actually resides in the DW folder within the main applications folder.

I will experiment to see what I can come up with.

Thanks,

Brian

Ok... I was able to rename the configuration folder and get the error to stop. Now I just need to reinstall the extensions... as always, thanks for the help.

Rather than delete your configuration folder, you probably could have found that file referenced in the error (it should be a couple of other places) and then copy and pasted it into the location where the error said it couldn't find it.

Glad to hear it is working, sorry for the inconvenience of having to reinstall.
