Ecommerce Recipes for eCart 5

Ok, new to all this. I am creating a ecommerce site for the first time using the eCart 5 and php. I have read through the forums and see there are lots of posts regarding product options that effect the price and lots of mentions of sample stores and ecommerce recipes. I have kept returning to the ecart download to try to find these resoures but the only ones under ecart 5 are basic set up guides! I have just found a load more info under the ecart 4 download. Is the process going to be the same for eCart 5 and if so why aren't these resources listed on the eCart 5 page?

eCommerce Recipes

The eCommerce Recipes were actually written for eCart 3 some time ago. However, there was quite a bit of useful information there, so we kept it available for eCart 4 users even though a great deal of it is outdated and many of the steps are no longer necessary or will not work.

We've been working on replacing the tutorials found within the eCommerce Recipes with separate tutorials, which are all listed on the eCart Support page ecart/. Any new tutorials will be added here.

As of right now we do not have a Product Options tutorial for eCart. This is a pretty complex process that also involves creating some admin pages so that the user can add the options and values to the database. The good news is, we hope to have this tutorial completed within the next week or so.

That sounds good news. I am under pressure to get this project up and running so the sooner you can let me have this info the better. Could you post as soon as it is available?

thanks

Sorry, are you saying the new tutorials are ready which will explain how to add product options with price increases? as I can only see the basic getting started tutorials on the eCart 5 page?

No, Ray was simply saying that as soon as they are ready, they will be listed on that page.

They are still not quite ready for release. As soon as they are, i will reply to this post to announce that the tutorial is available.

Product Options in eCart

We have just posted on the eCart Support page a tutorial on providing product options with eCart.
product_options.php

This uses the free eCommerce MySQL database and guides you through doing two different types of product options:
1. Allowing for the option to choose a different color.
2. Allowing for the option to choose a different size where certain sizes increase price.
