data assist add record page

data assist add record page

Hello all,

I have built several pages using DataAssist and have run into a problem that does not make sense.

A little background on the site that used the pages in discussion:

The database table that the Wizard was called into had some data formats that were different than tables used previously. In troubleshooting, I changed the fields, most of them from INT to VARCHAR to match previous successful builds.

After a few unsuccessful tries, I tried the basic Dreamweaver insert record behaviour and was able to add records to the database, but a lot of unrelated problems have emerged since.

Here is the error that I get when using the DataAssist add record page:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wa_ab_generateinsertparams() in /home/content/g/e/v/gevans7125/html/sm_training_add_3.php on line 94

I would like to attach the file, but keep getting errors. Can anyone tell me why this error is present. I have gone throught the DataAssist Insert Record behavior and found some of the form elements were not inserting int values where expected, but beyond that, I am stumped.

Any assistance is welcome.

Gary

that error will occur if the data assist include file is not attached, your page should have code similar to:
<?php require_once("WA_DataAssist/WA_AppBuilder_PHP.php"); ?>

make sure this code is included on the page and is before the Insert Record behavior.

to attach a php page to your thread, please compress it into a zip archive and send the zip file.

fixed it, thanks

Hello,

The command line was present in all files, but this exposed a bigger problem that has also been fixed, but I was hoping you could help me identify later.

All pages that contained an Update Record server behavior have been inoperative since I am guessing the 6th of March. On this day, I used the dataassist wizard to generate a new set of pages for a different table in the database. I did not know about the trouble I had injected until today when other users reported failures.

I did put the entire WA_Datassist folder which included the file you mentioned in your reply and the pages are now in operation again; I have not tested the page yet that I was asking for help with.

Is something that the Dataassist wizard would have changed that could have triggered this error that I should keep an eye out for later? I have several itterations of the wizard to run for different user tables in this database.

Thanks for the reply and helping me restore the site.

running the data assist wizard will only effect pages that have already been created if the name you set on the first step of the wizard is the same as an already created page.

If you use unique names on the first step of the wizard, it will not effect other pages in your site.
