PowerGallery Installation Wizard Problem

I'm hosting with HostGator and using cPanel Accelerated2 to setup a data base, I have setup a data base many time here with no problems but,,,,, when I use the Installation Wizard for PowerGallery I can't get past step (2)

First I setup the data base then I started the PowerGallery Installation Wizard, I get to Step 2 of 6 complete all that and when I try to go to next step (3) I get this error . . . .

ERROR: Could not connect to MySQL. Please verify the server, username, and password are correct.

Server / Host Name: * (localhost) highlited in pink indicating wrong.
Database: * here I put (prgallery) this one is correct.
Username: * here I put (pradmin) highlited in pink indicating wrong.
Password: * here I put the password (jhxxxxprg) highlited in pink indicating wrong.

I can't find what I have done wrong. Any one have an idea about this???

Thanks for help, Jim

The highlighted fields just specifies that one or more of the fields are entered incorrectly. The localhost seems to be correct, since your site is on the server. That leaves either the user name or the password. You've made sure that the username and password are correct?

Have you make connections using Dreamweaver to the database? The server, username and password should be the same in that as it is for this wizard.

When I setup the data base I named it . . . prgallery
I gave a username of . . . pradmin
I gave a password of . . . jhxxxxprg

I don't use Dreamweaver to connect to the data base, I'm running the installation wizard setup the program PowerGallery.

Why should this not work?

Thanks,
Jim

Well, in this case, the best way to go is to contact your service provider to verify that that is how you would connect to the database.

Having the same issue...

I uploaded the Power Gallery folder to my site via Dreamweaver CS5, but I'm not connecting to the database from there. I'm trying to log in via the WebAssist Installation Wizard and I get stuck on the same page as the original poster, with the same fields highlighted indicating an error. In cPanel, I created the database and set the user, password, and all access on... but that user and password won't work here. cPanel doesn't show me the path to the database, so for the server I'm just entering the actual site domain.

This is on my own server, so this should be working easily... but it continues to hang at the database information. Is there a specific path on the server/host that must be specified?

What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

If your Database Server is on the same server as your PowerStore, have you tried using localhost to connect to the server?
