main.dwt.php file

Hi is there a way in which you can have two main.dwt files obvisouly naming them both different? I want a main template file for the 5 pages with a set layout and then another layout for some other pages? Is there a way in which this can be done? How can i edit the locked code in the page to rename the template file? thanks

no probllem providing you are happy with html and css.

So create your page ie index2.php then using the insert--- template add you editable regions.

Dreamweaver will then create the template, add it to the assets panel and store it in the directory called templates.

So when you have a page you have created select the assets panel and then highlight the template you want to use then select apply and that template will be applied to that page.

As to disconnecting a page from a template again select modify---templates---detatch from template.

Ok fairly easy but make sure you have loads of backups ;-)
