Can't upload CMS files to server

I am trying to get CMS up and running but I can not get all the CMS folders and files to upload to my server, some files come up with the error "file access is denied". What am I doing wrong???

File permissions? You did check those? PowerCMS is distributed in a read-only format.....and you probably need to enable read/write

CMS upload

I did change permission initially but I did it file by file…must of missed something. This time I changed permission by the entire folder and subs and it worked. A lessoned learned…never change permission file by file, you can easily miss something.

are you changing the permissions after extracting the files from the zip archive?

are the files on your computer when you change the permissions or on the server?

try extraction the files to a folder on your computer, turn of the tread only attribute, then upload them to the server.
