Search Engine Optimization with PowerCMS

Thread began 3/01/2010 10:01 am by Stan.Shaw269802 | Last modified 2/04/2011 2:03 am by trincypris12 | 1009 views | 3 replies |

Search Engine Optimization with PowerCMS

What is the impact of coding content in PowerCMS, as opposed to having the content in static html? Will the search engines "see" the content as well?

Will the use of PowerCMS decrease the contents visibility to the search engines, and therefore the rankings?

I have to presume as the end user using PowerCMS will not have the understanding of anchors, titles and h1, h2, etc. that the resultant content will not produce the same search engine rankings, correct?

I am asking, so as to determine how to advise customers properly on what content should be kept outside the control of PowerCMS to enhance search engine optimization.

Search Engine Optimization with PowerCMS - no sweat

A search engine spider is just like a client browser. By the time they fetch the page for spidering, all of the content has already been placed by the server. So, your use of PowerCMS cannot have any impact on SE spidering, just as your use of server-side includes has no effect on SE spidering.

Good point, thanks.

Of course the end user must use anchors, titles, alts, h1, h2, etc. to get maxium value, but they can do that in the source mode of PowerCMS if desired (and understood).
