order/paypal serious problem

Hi

Now have the site "live" with both the test mode and sandbox unchecked.

I seem to have a multitude of errors and to be honest I'm not sure where to go from here!.

If I go onto the site www.mbsuk.co.uk and follow this order

1. register an account

2. request the validation

3.Copy the email validation and paste into IE

4. Go to the profile and fill in my details

5. Browse the products

6. Add an item costing £1 to the cart

7. Press the paypal button

8. Fill in my paypal details and login

9. Screen opens reviewing the payment information

10. Press the continue button

11. Page returns to pp_confirm.php?token=EC-1NU11463YR913633R&PayerID=N8356DSMB2GYQ

12. Paypal express info area is blank as is the shipping area

13. Press Submit order

14. Get message Transaction not complete please return to check out and try again.

I've also found that if I do not log in but just select an item I can still proceed through the checkout process without adding name address etc until I again reach no 14 as above.

Wouold appreciate some help

thanks

Ian

Update

Hi

spent most of the day trying to sort this but have failed. What I have tried islistede below am really in need of help as the client is talking about another cart program,

Thanks

Ian

this is what I did:

I backed up my exisiting remote site

Deleted the site but not the connections directory

Modified the mail_php.php to $mailObj = mail($mailTo,$mailSubject,$mailContent,$mailHeader , "-f".$mailFrom);
because this enables emails to be sent on Fasthosts.

uploaded the core master files from the downloaded zip

The database connected to the existing database.

Went to buy a $1 towel with the option selected in admin to use test mode

the system went to paypal and returned to the main site but no paypal information or shipping information was shown and no order was entered into the database.

Went back into Admin and deselected test mode and engaged the sand box in charges.

Bought an item but received the pp+checkout failure page telling me the transaction could not be completed. Again no order was entered into the database.

Finaly I unticked the sandbox option.

Went back and purchased an item again this sent me to paypal and then returned me to the confirm order page.

At that point I returned to the checkout failure page. And again no orders were entered in the database.

Finaly I tried to place an order without rgistering,

I just selected all products picked my $1 test item and added to cart. I then reaced the checkout page and pressed the paypal button

This took me to paypal where I went through the normal checkout when I return to the pp_confirm.php there is no email box just an option
to enter a password and confirm. If I do this then press confirm order I am returned to the pp_checkout failure page.

To determine what might be going wrong with your PayPal checkout you will need to have the full request and full response on your checkout failure and pp_checkout failure pages. Here is a link that provides the specific code that you need to add to these pages:

showpost.php?p=34342&postcount=3

Please give this a try and let us know what the response message says, it should let you know just why it is failing.

update

Hi Eric

I added the code into pp_checkout_failure.php as you suggested and went through the purchase sequence again.

However no additional messages were shown

I put the code into the body.

Any other ideas?

thanks

Ian
