eCart

easy as...
It sound easy to me but I dont know how to do it!! ( so it aint easy eh)
I would like to use the checkout page to "send an order" to email recipients rather than checkout to the payment gateway. It is for "a dealer franchise" group and the head office want to use a purchase order system. This allows them to monitor the purchases from the franchises. Can I do this with the custom checkout page? Can I have more than 1 eCart folder on the same site. The franchise products require a password to view and are on my website online shop, just a different folder. I will still want to use the payment gateway for my regular items. Will Version 5 allow this functionality?
Will version 5 integrate with all the pages created with version 4??
I use security assist to restrict viewing to this login group.
Thanks for you help
David

The checkout wizard for eCart 5 has the option to create checkout pages that do not use a payment gateway.

You would need to create separate eCart objects, one for the regular web shop, the other for the franchise products.

basically, you are creating two separate stores. each store will have it own eCart opbject.

each store will have it's own set of files for the product catalog and checkout functionality.

the eCart objects will both be in the same eCart folder, but the files that use them can be anywhere on the server.

eCart

Jason
Thanks for the heads up
I assume all the different files produced for each new cart have a new file or versions number at the end "like_this_2.php" and "like_this_3.php"
I then gather that i can have many different cart types on a single web site ( offering different purchase, checkout methods)

To install version 5 on my mac 10.6.2
The best way is-----
1. Delete extension version 4.5 from extension manager, then delete macfilecache, then install version 5??
Or
2. Disable extension version 4.5, then delete macfilecache, then install version 5?? then delete version 4.5 for extension manager??
Thanks for your help

by default, the checkout wizard will create all of the checkout files with the same name.

On the last step of the checkout wizard, you can change the name of the files though.

The best method for installing a new version of an extension is to completely remove the previous version from the extension manager, delete the Dreamweaver cache file, then install the new version.
