paypal express

Hi

can someone explain what is meant by

user
password
signature

on the Paypal express screen

surely it does not mean the paypal username and password because that would leave the paypal account open to the www or is it encrypted?

thanks

Ian

You need to sign up with payapl to use the Express checkout API, during the sign up process you will need to get API Express Checkout API Credentials, these will include a username, password and signature:
ic_certificate.html

Does this mean the PayPal API Signature????

Could you please clarify more on your instructions? This is the PayPal API Signature that one has to obtain from PayPal correct? There is absolutely no explanation about this anywhere. The letters API are crucial if that's what it means by signature. I was thinking that it might be what the users might see as who the payment comes from.

I'm trying to figure out why my store isn't working and thing this signature might be the problem - only I wasn't sure what that meant.

And where and how is this information transmitted to PayPal?

The API Credentials given by PayPal are comprised of three different values, a Username, Password ans Signature.

the Username, password and signature being requested in PowerStore are the API Username, pass word and signature that you get from paypal when you request API credentials.

Thanks! I figured that out. But please suggest to your programmers that in the Admin set-up they should add the letters API before the Username, Password and signature fields so that this is crystal clear to everyone which information should go there. Since there is no explanation anywhere one would easily assume this was the PayPal User name and password for those fields.

I am still having trouble getting more store to work - but will try to start another topic for that.
