Powerstore 2 to Powerstore 3 admin

I would like to know if it is possible, to just create new tables in my power store 2 mysql database and then use the powerstore 3 admin and change it on my website so that I will have the ability to add subcategories. I would imagine their will also have to be some changes made to the product results pages as well. Please advise.

You can directly upgrade from your PS2 database to the PS3 database. Once you have done this you can then go into the admin area for PS3 and add in the sub categories and associate them with the products correctly. PS3 supports sub categories now.
