Fasthosts vs 1and1 hosting service

Hi, does anybody here have any experience with PowerStore v2 or v3 on fasthosts.co.uk.

I have both versions, but I have yet to get the thing to send any type of email via the store pages wether it be registration emails, verification emails or even sales based emails. If you're on fasthosts, have you managed to get any emails sent from the store?

Webassist recommend 1and1, so if I do get to the point of no return with fasthosts and I choose to switch, does the admin email facility in pPowerStore 3 work straight out of the box with 1and1?

If anybody answers yes, then I might just make the jump anyway. I am getting no help from fasthosts in trying to fix this email problem.

Thanks.

Mat

We do most of our live testing on a 1&1 account, so it will work straight out of the box with them.

Hi

I'm with Fasthosts and thier support is generaly good.

Re your email problem easy- peasy - Ok Jason sorted ir for me.

The solution is on the forum but here it is and it does work

Ian

Incase anyone else wants to try it:

in mail_php.php

I changed the line

$mailObj = mail($mailTo,$mailSubject,$mailContent,$mailHeader );

to

$mailObj = mail($mailTo,$mailSubject,$mailContent,$mailHeader , "-f".$mailFrom);

Can't claim to know why it works ( over to Jason and Dani)

But it does solve the problem with FASTHOSTS servers here in the UK

thanks

Ian

Blimey, the amount of times I have asked why this isn't working on here! I mention fasthosts and all of a sudden you respond with the only thing that seems to have made me smile in days because it works...

Thanks Ian, very much appreciated.

Hi

Really wish I could puff up my chest and take the credit but it's down to Jason and the team!

Glad it worked
