iRite stopped working on my testing server

First of all, this is on my local server, so I can't send you to the site. The entire iRite interface is not showing up. No toolbars, no icons, nothing. In fact, on my local server, NONE of the sites I've created using iRite are working. The text area is there, but nothing iRite related is showing up in any of my sites on my local testing server.

If you are getting an error when trying to use the tool or the interfaces in the tool are not showing correctly there could be a couple of problems. The first thing you should try is deleting the cache file to see if that helps with things, here is a link on this:

common_installation_issues.pdf

If this does not work for you then there may be a corruption of the config, here is a link for the steps in dealing with that if deleting the cache file does not solve the problem:

To sales356151, is this the type of problem you are experiencing or are you experiencing a problem after implementing the tool on your site? If you could post a screen shot that may help clear things up.

Eric, update... I deleted the win cache file, which I've done before for various reasons. This is ONLY happening in FIREFOX. I.E. is fine. I think this may have had something to do with me installing the spell checker. Does this help at all?

Eric, this is now happening on a live site of mine, but only in Firefox. I've had one customer complaint ... I'm sure there will be more now. Why is this happening in Firefox? This is now on a server level - no longer on my testing, local server.

Eric, I've done some digging and it appears that only ColdFusion sites are not working in Firefox. None of my live sites that are written in ColdFusion are editable in Firefox (all of the icons are missing from the insert and update pages). The PHP sites still seem fine in Firefox.

iRite Not Working in FireFox

I just started experiencing the same issue - my sites are ColdFusion and just stopped working properly in FireFox - okay in IE. No icons for editing FireFox. The problem is evident both on my testing server and a variety of remote servers.

Can you please post the answer to this problem?

I was able to look up the ticket that was filed and see that there is an updated file you can use to fix this problem if you are experiencing the same thing.

In your WA_iRite folder replace the fckutils.cfm file with this version that is attached. Before you do this you should make sure to save a copy of the file just in case you need to revert it.

Once you update this file make sure that the new file get's uploaded to the server. This should be an issue that is fixed in the latest release of FireFox but this updated file should get it working in the mean time. Note, this is a ColdFusion only issue, if you are not using ColdFusion you should not update this file.
