Can't see tutorial (BlueSky) DBs to show up when connecting

I followed in instructions to install XAMPP. Apache is running, and MySQL is running. Now back to the tutorial videos that use the downloaded files of BlueSky? - ok I open the recordsets.php, then the databases panel and go to connect to my database using my newly changed password from the XAMPP Control Panel and I get these "other" 5 DBs... cdcol, information_schema, mysql, phpmyadmin, test. None are the ones on the tutorial.

Where did I go wrong???? Oh and I did copy the Database-Elearning folder into the htdocs folder....

As you have just installed Xampp with PHP & MySql, you may need to re-import the database from the starter kit into your mySql - either through mySql Administrator as per section 3 of the tutorial (03 Schema tour.swf), or directly through phpMyAdmin which should be accessible via the xampp icon in the notification area of your task bar. (You can also reach phpMyAdmin directly in your browser address bar at phpMyAdmin )

Got it

This worked!

I went to the XAMPP COntrol Panel at the local host, brought up the PHPMyAdmin on the left hand side, logged in, then clicked on import and browsed to the database file, selected it, then pressed "go" and they imported just fine.

Big learning curve here. Wish they would have advertised, "No coding knowledge needed, but you do need knowledge of databases and web server software, and php, and MySQL to use our products :)

Great thing there is an active forum on here. Thanks BUNCHES!!!!

Nice one, - glad you got it sorted. The learning curve is both a blessing and a curse (but not necessarily in that order). If you're on a deadline then you just want to get things done, but it's great to learn new stuff too. For both, this forum is the best!
