html source code a mess

html source code a mess

Cannot remember which version of PCMS I'm using, but one thing is becoming increasingly annoying and thats when you attempt to format any of the wording within a page.

After pasting some text into the editor and creating h1 tags p tags etc and then viewing the source to possibly change a particular area, this is how the viewing source looks:

***********
<h1>Test Page</h1><p>Si meliora dies, ut vina, poemata reddit, scire velim, chartis pretium quotus arroget annus. scriptor abhinc annos</p><p> convenisse Menandro, Plautus ad exemplar Siculi properare Epicharmi, vincere Caecilius gravitate, Terentius arte.</p>
**************

Just one great block. Its even worse when you look at the source code of the page through a browser. Just one continuous line.

Is this a fault or just the way FCKEditor 2.6.5 is?

Is there anyway we can get this change inputted into future PowerCMS upgrades?

BTW -- I made the change and my html code is still coming out garbled in the source view.

I have logged a feature request to have this included in the next HTML editor release.

html source view

I'm probably asking too much here. Is there a way when in the html source code view, that any html is highlighted in a different colour? or is this feature available in the HTML Editor ext. I don't have the HTML Editor extension at present, I am using the complete PCMS package as it stands.

I have looked around a little and cannot find any info on this type of feature in the fckeditor. If it is not available from within the editor it is not likely that it will be included in any updates to PowerCMS or HTML Editor.
