background color customization
Power Gallery presents design options of light and dark. Is there a good option, perhaps in the css, for customizing the background colors of the galleries to better integrate with a site color scheme?

Yes, it is all controlled with CSS like you mention. Here is what I would recommend. Lets take the Ribbon+Fullsize as an example. The directory that contains the css for the dark and light files is galleries/ribbon_fullsize/css. Copy the dark.css file and rename it anything you want, such as mystyle.css. Now, you can edit the mystyle.css with the colors that better match your site. In the admin, your new style will automatically show up on the Choose Gallery page as a selectable theme under the Ribbon+Fullsize. If you want a custom image to show up as well, you can make a thumbnail in galleries/ribbon_fullsize/admin called mystyle.png.
Using this technique allows you to keep the dark and light themes intact while still creating a custom one that works better for you. If you don't care about keeping those intact, you can of course edit the dark.css directly with the colors you want.

That's pretty cool that you can have modded css show up as selectable themes. That makes this whole deal (plus the great set-up) even better that I thought it was. Totally impressed, - nice one Justin.
I finally got a chance to implement the customization and it works quite well. Adding the customized .png to PowerGallery looks very professional.
respect due!
wow, i didn't know about this - time to play a bit more.
Add some instructions in the literature, you may well sell a few more
Glad you guys like it, I will make a suggestion for a more advanced guide on make a custom color scheme.

Did the advanced guide ever happen for the css edits? Thanks.
No guide out for this, but for the most part its not too hard to figure it out. I would use either Chrome/Safari dev tools or Firebug to inspect the elements that you want to change. Then you can use the above technique to make a custom .css file and change the colors in the correct places.
