Newsletter sign up
I'm trying to build a form that will allow visitors to sign-up for an email newsletter. All the form needs to do is add the names and emails into a database. Is there a recipe to build this? I’m currently using Super Suite.

Rob,
The quickest way would be to first create your table... for the purpose of this instruction, let's call it "elist".
In the elist table, create your columns name and email.
Then on a page create the form with text inputs for name and email and a submit button.
Then use DataAssist to insert a single record from the form (upon the submit button being pressed) and then use the wizard to map the form inputs to their correct database columns.
Of course, you will probably want to add validation to the email field to ensure the user inputs a valid email address.
Also, another concern - that while this is easy to do - make sure you read up on the Spam Laws about double opt-in and other necessary actions before blasting emails to people. While I know a lot of site just ask people to sign up, it may not actually be legal to just start e-blasting people without a double opt-in process.
Best regards,
Brian
