Define New Access Rule Problem

Hi Hope you can help, I've got security assist up and running, database is installed, login page, log out page and profile all work, I'm just trying to define user access levels.

I've followed these steps
9. From the Modify menu, select SecurityAssist.
10. Choose Access Rules Manager.
11. In the Access Rules Manager choose Add.
12. In the name field for this rule enter Administrator.
13. Click Add under Conditions.
14. Make sure the Allow option is selected.

15. But when I try to choose the Value Lightning bolt I get Dreamwaever setup instructions dialogue box appear saying how to use dynamic data on this page

1. Create a site
2. Choose document type
3. Set up the testing server
4. create a recordset

I think I've done all of these although I can't get the testing server to work, works remotely though.

Please Help

are any of the options checked?

You will need to go through and configure the ones that are not checked.

Define New Access Rule Problem

Yes,

1. Create a site for this file is checked
2. Choose a document type is checked

but Set up the site's testing server and create a recordset aren't.

I've gone through the ODBC setup and linked the database to my Dreamweaver site but when I test it I get this message

HTTP error 12029

my files are stored at C:/Users/NC/Websites/Leader
and the testing server is specified as localhost/

Im running a PC with Windows Vista Basic

I'm not sure how to set up the recordset part of this.

Thanks for your help and reply

Neil

Do you have IIS installed for a testing server or do you have xampp?

If you have not installed a testing server yet, see the "Setting up a Testing Server for Windows" and "Defining a Dynamic Site in Dreamweaver" tutorials in the learning Resources section:
