Importing to the database

I guess I need to clarify what I mean.

I obviously want to use the system the way it is intended to be used. Since PM does not include an import function, I want to import a mailing list. But that mailing list will not include all of the fields in the users table. So, for example, it will not include UserEmailVerified.

If this field is empty, will PM still function, or do I have to put in a dummy value?

I will want the imported email addresses to belong to an audience. Can I assign them to an audience later, in the admin function, or should I input some value in the audience field when I import the data?

Basically, I'm looking for some guidance in importing a mailing list. I can't find any info in the forum, and the documentation is lacking. The alternative is for me to input the user information for each of the people via the add user function.

But even though I want the minimum info to be name, email and password, the add user screen insists on all of the other information. This isn't a feasible way to get started.

Thanks...Duane
