Searching Categories

Hi

I have made a directory. Although I have made the overall system work, I have a issue.

I have used data assist to make the results and detail pages.

I have made the directory using two database tables, one for categories and another for links.

When a user submits a link a menu dynamically lists all the values of the cat database, as a result the listings always have a category.

The problem is, on my pages I have a nav down the side set up dynamically to show the fields of the cat database.

The issue is I need to make the categories link to the results page to search for the cat clicked on.

If I just link to the page, all the results show when I only need the result for the selected cat to show.

Could you tell me how to do this please?

Thanks in advance
